1970 Porsche 911

1970 911T Targa. No time or expenses were spared in restoring this Targa to be better than produced by the factory. In 2014, this original Tangerine over Black and Houndstooth survivor was purchased as a sound and straight donor for a complete restoration project. Over the next 3 years, the work occurred. The car was completely disassembled down to the chassis and cataloged. All mechanical components and cosmetic pieces were replaced or rebuilt: including a split-case rebuild for the matching-numbers Weber-carbureted 2.2l T engine (with heads, machining, new gaskets, bearings, etc.); complete suspension with all rubber and shocks; and complete braking system. The original factory coat of Tangerine was stripped and the car repainted with all glass and trims. New gaskets were used throughout and, with aesthetic trims replaced or reconditioned as needed. The interior was redone with new carpets, seats including houndstooth fabric and vinyl, recovered dash, and new trims/hardware throughout. No single item or part was overlooked in making the car as fresh as possible. Beyond the factory refreshing, mild enhancements include a Dansk sport muffler, custom-finished Momo Prototipo wheel and 917-style shift knob. Since completion, the Targa was driven, sorted and enjoyed for several hundred miles--ensuring proper running and functioning condition. Records and invoices of the restoration process are available. This Targa is ready to be enjoyed! Being a 1970 car, it has a short/non-17 digit VIN and therefore no Carfax. But we see no signs of previous collision damage and it carries a clear title.
